Primor reaches new charcuterie ranges, producing not only smoked sausages, sausages and smoked pieces, but also cooked hams and other cooked pieces. Distinguished by their quality, Primor products become popular, leading to an increase in production and the expansion of the industrial facilities.

Primor products become more in demand, leading the company to increases its production and expand its industrial units once again, installing technologically advanced equipment.

Primor is awarded its first international food quality award, competing with the care that is put into the preparation and production of each of its products, its technological advance, its hygiene and health excellency, its fast and effective customer service.

1994

Given its growth and innovation capacity, Primor expands its distribution to the entire modern channel. Attentive to new markets, it has strong export figures in countries such as the Palops, Spain, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and England.

2006

This is a year of strategic redefinition for Primor, segmenting, specializing and expanding each of its business areas, creating three new segments:animal slaughter (Central Carnes), fresh meats (ICM) and charcuterie products (Primor).

2011

Primor is reborn into a prime future, celebrating its prime charcuterie and the “know-how” of a long family tradition. Located in the north of Portugal, Primor employees close to 400 collaborators and occupies a top position among the Portuguese leading companies in the industry, in addition to having an active presence in all sectors of domestic distribution and a growing activity in the international markets. Aiming to solidify its internationalisation strategy, Primor buys 50 % of the Valinho Angola group, holder of the Valinho Meats industry – Angola’s only charcuterie industry and the Angolan charcuterie brand -, of the VDA Distribuição Alimentar – distributor of food products in Angola, namely of the VALINHO group, APHA, CPA, Primor, ICM and Central Carnes brands – and of Coalho, trader company operating in Europe for the Angolan market.

2007

Primor strengthens its commitment to healthy eating and launches the Levíssimos range. Its innovative double package, with an open and close system, receives the national package award.

2010

Primor creates a range of convenience products: Strips of Charcutarie.

New slogan: “Reinvent your day”. Primor receives two consumer choice awards, in the category of Great Consumption & Home: Primor’s Natura Cooked Turkey Breast was distinguished in the healthy cooked ham segment, while the bacon extra, of the sandwiches range, was awarded in the Charcuterie-Bacon segment.

Primor’s Bacon, of the Sandwiches Range, and Healthy Cooked Hams of the Natura Range win Consumer Choice Award in the Healthy Bacon And Ham categories.

Another product is launched for Gama Chef, the Barbecue Sausages with the options: classic and spicy. Primor continues to be the Consumer Choice in the Extra Bacon Category.
